The agency created and maintained these files to help track diverse weather phenomena in order to support its operational environmental warning, forecast, and prediction responsibilities.
Description
This series contains a chronological listing, by state, of hurricanes, tornadoes, thunderstorms, hail, floods, drought conditions, lightning, high winds, snow, temperature extremes and other weather phenomena. The reports are provided by the National Weather Service and contain statistics on personal inju ries, fatalities and property damage estimates.
This data comprises government records extracted from the Archival Research Catalog (ARC). See the ARC catalog entry for this series for more information on this data and how to order it.
