The neurocognitive profile of children with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and post stroke neurocognitive and psychological outcomes

Deficits in neurocognitive functioning have long been associated with DMD. The neurocognitive aspects of DMD have received less attention than the physiological sequalae.

This thesis includes a systematic review and meta-analysis of available literature on the neurocognitive profile of children with DMD.<br><br>In addition, an empirical paper is included which investigates perceptual reasoning, verbal comprehension, memory, depression, anxiety, stress, and quality of life (QOL) among stroke survivors in company to non-clinical norms at 1-5 years post stroke. Differences between three treatment groups were investigated; Intravenous Thrombolysis (IVT), Endovascular Thrombectomy (EVT) and Intravenous Thrombolysis followed by Endovascular Thrombectomy (IVT+EVT).<br>
