Tuberculosis Surveillance Public Use Files

This data was used for health risk assessment and planning, implementing and evaluating public health interventions and programs. This series consists of two types of records, the Individual Case Files and the State / Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA) Files.

The Individual Case Files contain social survey data for each verified case of tuberculosis reported from each stat e and the District of Columbia. These records include data such as the year of diagnosis, patient's age group, sex, race and place of birth, patient's vital status, episodes of tuberculosis, sites of the disease, lab results, years in the United States, and region of residence. The State / MSA Files includes the same types of information found in the Individual Case Files, but also includes state and MSA identifiers.
