TLS-uncertainty aluminium material cylinder scan data

The measurements on a cylindrical targets of aluminium material (of two different diameters and each with three layers of different reflectances) were performed in the laboratory.
Description
The setup was similar to the previous experiments performed by having three cases: 1) A cylinder with non-reflecting background or equivalently where the signal is not mixed with any other reflecting background/object. This case showed the effect of laser measurement footprint and the curved curvature within the footprint.
Fitting a best fit circle to these measurement points yields an overestimation of the diameter scanned. 2) A cylinder with a strong reflecting background (bright one). 3) A cylinder with a less reflective background (dark). Mixed pixels are observed when the signal is mixed with the background. In addition, the background distance is varied from very close to the cylinder to upto roughly 25 cm farther away.

These set of experiments will help with modeling of the typical mixed pixels errors as a function of relative distance between the targets, absolute distance from the instruments, modulation wavelength, surface curvature, angle of incidence, and reflectivity.
