This working paper provides a synthesis of case studies and literature review undertaken by UNHCR's EPAU in recent years.
Description
It examines the characteristics, causes, consequences and responses to Protracted Refugee Situations in Africa. In addition, refugees' coping strategies and the gender dimensions of PRS are explored, and a number of recommendations regarding more effective responses to the issue are given.
