Figure S1. Density calibration for the studied cores; CT units (HU) to MKS bulk sediment-density (kg/m3).
Twenty measurements of averaged HU values were performed in 1 cm by 6 cm vertical rectangles on a longitudinal CT slice in the middle of core AM113 (average HU of an individual rectangular ranged ~600 - ~1500). They were then plotted against the gamma density values obtained for the same core depths using a Multi Scan Core Logger (Haifa University, Israel). Figure S2.

The major stratigraphic units and the transition from the Last Glacial Period to the Holocene are marked along each core. Also presented are the Munsell colors of the sediment at selected core depths. Figure S3.

The S1 sequence along each core, based on the TOC values (Figs. 4, 6, 8, 10), and the debrite sections along the cores (Figs. 2, 5, 7, 9) are marked by gray and reddish hatching, respectively. Selected Isochrones, based on radiocarbon dating and stratigraphy, are marked.
