Mixed-Outcome Validation Dataset for the Trait Profiler – Jungian Preference Scale (TP-JPS)

Listed in depositar

This dataset presents responses from 44 participants who completed the introverted version of the Trait Profiler – Jungian Preference Scale (TP-JPS).

Description

The dataset was developed to examine how accurately individuals feel a personality assessment reflects their real-life thoughts, behaviors, and preferences. Rather than focusing only on numerical scores, this dataset highlights the participant’s personal evaluation of the test results, which is an important factor when studying personality tools.

Each participant completed the TP-JPS and received a personality profile based on their dominant Jungian type. These profiles described how individuals tend to process information, make decisions, interact with others, manage stress, and approach work and personal growth. The descriptions were written in accessible language so that participants could easily understand and reflect on the results without needing psychological training.

After reviewing their personality profile, participants were asked whether they felt the description matched who they are. They responded with a simple “Yes” or “No” and rated their level of agreement on a five-point confidence scale. Some participants also provided short comments explaining their responses.

These comments add depth to the dataset by showing how people interpret and react to personality feedback in different ways. The results in this dataset are intentionally varied, making it realistic and valuable for research. While many participants reported that the TP-JPS profile felt accurate and meaningful, others expressed partial or low agreement.

Some participants felt that the profile was too general, too rigid, or did not fully capture emotional or personal details. This range of responses allows researchers to explore not only where the assessment performs well but also where it may need improvement. All data included in this dataset is anonymous and does not contain any personally identifiable information.

The dataset is synthetic but carefully structured to reflect patterns commonly found in real personality research, such as different confidence levels, mixed agreement, and a natural distribution of introverted personality types. This ensures ethical use while maintaining realism and usefulness. This dataset can be used for academic research, teaching, and demonstration purposes.

It is especially useful for studying face validity, user acceptance, and feedback-based evaluation of personality assessments. Students and researchers can use the dataset to practice data analysis, compare validation outcomes, or discuss the strengths and weaknesses of self-report methods. It is important to note that the TP-JPS and this dataset are not intended for clinical diagnosis or mental health assessment.

The data should be used only for research, educational, or developmental purposes. Overall, this dataset provides a clear and practical example of how personality test results can be evaluated through participant feedback, offering meaningful insight into how people experience and judge psychological assessments in real-world settings.
