The Empirical Study on Integrated Model of Ecotourism Support and Visitors\' Behavioral Intentions in Penghu: The Views of Visitors\' Innovation, Risk Perceptions, Interesting and Involvement Based on Resource-based Theory

The purpose of this study is to construct the linear cause-effect model of ecotourism support and behavioral intentions based on the resource-based theory, which adopts the visitors’ innovation, risk perceptions, and interesting in ecotourism resources to be the antecedent variables, the visitors’ involvement and support for ecotourism to be the mediated variables; the visitors behavioral intentions to be the effect variable, and explore their interact effects as well.

The questionnaire is used to test the constructed model and Penghu ecotourism is selected to be the research scope, the visitors are selected to be the study samples for which are the latent visitors of Penghu ecotourist. Total of 534 valid questionnaires was collected for analysis. The findings of this study indicate that both the visitors’ innovation and interesting in ecotourism resources have significant direct effects on involvement; while visitors’ risk perceptions has no significant effects on involvement, and for both involvement and support have significant direct effects on behavioral intentions, and support has significant direct effects on behavioral intentions as well.
