The 200 Hz Sampling Interval of Porewater Pressure from The Integrated Groundwater Observation System of Milun Fault, Taiwan

An integrated sealed porewater pressure monitoring system was installed in the northern segment of the Milun Fault, Hualien, Taiwan, a highly seismically active region. This system has been continuously monitoring porewater pressure since 2023, with the primary objective of observing groundwater responses to seismic activity.

The pressure sensors are installed at depths of 170 m, 360 m, 424 m, and 464 m. The system utilizes fiber Bragg grating (FBG) optical sensors integrated with multilevel sealed monitoring capabilities to measure porewater pressure. The repository also includes supplementary three orientation acceleration data recorded from a nearby borehole at depths of 392 m and 492 m during the Hualien earthquake events.
