Description
This is the OBIS extraction of the Atlantic Cooperative Telemetry and Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) SERC Recreational Fisheries project, consisting of the release tagging metadata, i.e. the location and date when the tagged animal was released, and summarized detection events of tagged individuals. If readers are interested in the source dataset they may also inquire with the project PIs as listed here or on the OTN web site (members.oceantrack.org/project?ccode=ACT.SERCRECFIS).

This study aims to understand important recreational fish species. We hope to increase our understanding of how these species move around Chesapeake Bay using local arrays and the Chesapeake Bay Backbone Array. Our key species of study include: bluefish, Spanish mackerel and sheepshead.
