Election Advertising Reports and Returns

Listed in Edmonton Open Data

A Third-Party Advertiser (TPA) is an individual, corporation or group who promotes or opposes the election of a municipal or school board candidate, or promotes or opposes a position on an issue that is the subject of a vote on a bylaw or question, by means of advertising.

Description

All TPAs who incur expenses or contributions of at least $1,000, or intend to, must register with their local jurisdiction, in this case Edmonton Elections.

If a TPA is registered in more than 10 local jurisdictions, they can choose to register with the Provincial Registrar at Municipal Affairs, which will cancel any previous registration with a local jurisdiction. Election advertising reports and returns filed by third-party advertisers are published online by Edmonton Elections in accordance with the Local Authorities Election Act . Mailing addresses of contributors are redacted.
