Pectin Methylesterase new isoform identification in Tomato.xlsx

Listed in DataCite

Pectin methylesterase (PME, EC 3.1.1.11) is a hydrolytic enzyme of pectin that plays multiple roles in different plant development processes, especially in fruit softening.

Description

Here, a ubiquitously expressed new isoform (PE4) and a leaf-specific new isoform (PE5) were successfully isolated using heparin affinity chromatography. PE4 was found to be a salt independent isoform and expressed ubiquitously in both fruit and vegetative tissues.

However, PE5 was found to be salt dependent isoform and expressed specificly in leaf.
