Supplemental data for: The species decline apocalypse: Are pesticides causing a proverbial anthropogenic judgment day?

Raw data for study that builds on a previous analysis by Prosser & Brain (2024), which evaluated recovery plans for over 1,100 species of terrestrial plants “listed” as threatened or endangered in the U.S. or “species-at-risk” in Canada, tabulating and ranking the primary through quinary drivers identified as contributing to the decline of terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates, focused particularly on terrestrial arthropods, but also including mollusks.

This evaluation is also complementary to extensive previous analyses on birds (Brain & Anderson 2019), mammals (Brain & Anderson 2020), and fish (Brain & Prosser 2022), and these taxa are also included in this analysis and provided in the Supplemental Information for additional context. Moreover, this exercise is not intended to exonerate pesticides or downplay their potential environmental impact, rather to provide context and perspective.
