Illuminating displacement in the 'twilight years': locating and conceptualising older refugees in advocacy efforts in the United Kingdom
Listed in ZivaHub and Deakin Research Online and DMU Figshare — shown once because both records carry DOI 10.25446/oxford.33353181.v1
The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) has acknowledged that while there is much publicised focus on refugee women and children, there are very rarely any projects undertaken that are aimed exclusively toward older refugees.
Description
This study aims to better understand this gap and highlight the main challenges in advocating for older refugees - a demographic that fails to elicit adequate interest. The study was conducted principally through interviews with relevant organisations, as there is very little published material on the topic.
