The Study on the Competence and Role for After-school Program Child Caregivers

The issue of improving the care quality of after-school programs has changed.
Description
In the beginning, the purpose of the programs was to take care the school-age children for the safety reason. The new issue is to ask the program to provide a wide variety of curricula and activities to meet school-age children\'s developmental needs.
The role and competence of caregivers are different from the traditional role. The purpose of this study was to understand the expectation of parents, scholar, the program owners and caregivers to the role and competence of the caregivers with school-age children. The results indicated that there were sixty-four items of competence that caregivers should need.

Moreover, the results showed that the role of a caregiver with school-age children was to foster all aspects of children \'s development.
