Based on long-term field experiments and regional network studies, the mechanisms of black soil conservation and utilization were explored, resulting in 20 published papers.
Description
These studies revealed the mechanisms of thick black soil conservation and high crop yield. They clarified how deep incorporation of organic materials regulates soil organic matter (SOM) stability, soil pore structure formation, and nutrient cycling.
The relationship between soil quality and crop yield was also quantified, providing an important theoretical basis for developing key conservation technologies for thick black soil. The application of organic materials improved the overall stability of SOM mainly by increasing its chemical stability, which directly affected the SOM content. Deep incorporation of straw changed the fungal community structure and enhanced bacterial community resistance.

It shaped a microbial interaction network with fewer connections and stronger clustering, which promoted straw decomposition and carbon acquisition. Additionally, deep incorporation of straw and organic fertilizer significantly increased the number of macropores, porosity, and fractal dimension. This improved the complexity and connectivity of soil pores in the 0–35 cm layer, forming a pore structure favorable for microbial growth.
