Social Media Use in Family Planning
Listed in Teesside University Research Data Repository
This dataset contains anonymized survey responses from 652 healthcare providers involved in family planning service delivery in the Central Region of Ghana.
Description
The data were collected using a structured electronic questionnaire to examine healthcare providers' use of social media for professional family planning service delivery and the factors influencing its adoption. The dataset includes respondents' demographic characteristics (e.g., age, gender, profession, educational qualification, and region of practice), patterns of social media platform use (including WhatsApp, Facebook, and YouTube), and the use of social media for a range of family planning activities such as health education, misinformation correction, professional development, patient communication, and clinical support.
It also contains responses measuring key constructs of the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM), including perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude towards social media use, and actual use. Data were collected using a five-point Likert scale for attitudinal and behavioural measures and were analysed using descriptive statistics, confirmatory factor analysis, and structural equation modelling. The dataset has been fully de-identified and contains no personal or participant-identifying information.
