This repository contains de-identified survey data from 798 Chinese adults with online dating experience (46.9% male; M_age = 30.61, SD = 6.84).
Description
The data were collected through a cross-sectional online survey examining associations among Dark Triad traits, self-presentation strategies, dating fatigue, and breadcrumbing. The dataset includes demographic variables and measures of Machiavellianism, narcissism, psychopathy, acquisitive self-presentation, authentic self-presentation, dating fatigue, breadcrumbing behavior, and prior experience of being breadcrumbed.
These data were used to test a partial least squares structural equation model of the direct and serial indirect associations between Dark Triad traits and breadcrumbing through self-presentation strategies and dating fatigue. The repository includes the de-identified analysis dataset. No directly identifying information is included.
