Use of etendue and energy spread to assess inverse-Compton X-ray sources for applications

Listed in DataCite

While brightness is commonly used as an X-ray source figure of merit, it is not appropriate for many applications.

Description

Usable X-ray flux, restricted via application-specific etendue and energy spread, is a superior figure of merit. We present a methodology and software for calculating the usable X-ray flux for an application.
