Black Soil A-Horizon Profiles – Catalonia, Spain

It includes 146 soil profiles characterized by the physical, chemical, and morphological properties of the topsoil horizon only. The dataset includes the following variables: Profile: Soil profile identifier Column1 and Column2: Sampling point coordinates (UTM) ID: Unique horizon identifier for each profile Grouping: Classification by grouping based on soil properties.

Depth: Horizon depth (cm) Value and chroma: Munsell color parameters Coarse fragments: Percentage of coarse fragments Sand, silt, clay: soil textural fractions (%) pH: Soil pH in water TOC: Total Organic Carbon (g/kg) CaCO3: Calcium carbonate content (%) CEC: Cation Exchange Capacity (cmolc/kg) BS: Base Saturation (%) These data were collected for research on soil classification, fertility, and distribution patterns. They can be used in pedological studies, soil mapping, cluster analysis, and statistical modeling of soil properties.
