Hourly resolution atmospheric pollutant monitoring data of Wuxi City in November 2025
Listed in ScienceDB
Hourly resolution atmospheric pollutant monitoring data for Wuxi City from October 28th to November 30th, 2025, including data on ambient metals , water-soluble ions, OC/EC and PM2.5.Particulate matter data were obtained from online instruments at the Dongjiang Atmospheric Monitoring Station.
Description
The sampling period lasted 34 days from October 28 to November 30, 2025, with data reported at an hourly resolution. All the instruments achieved high data availability (data validity rate ≥93% during the sampling period), excluding the time required for quality control and maintenance.
Specifically, PM2.5 data were obtained from a continuous particulate matter monitor (BAM-1020, MetOne Instruments, USA), which continuously measured particle concentrations via the beta-ray attenuation method. A total of 794 valid samples were collected during the sampling period. Water‑soluble ion data were obtained via an ion chromatography (IC) process analyzer (2060 MARGA, Metrohm, Switzerland), which analyzes inorganic ionic species in precursor gases and the resulting aerosols via a dual‑channel ion chromatography system.

The major aerosol ionic components obtained included SO42-, NO3-, Cl-, F-, NH4+, K+, Na+, Ca2+, and Mg2+. A total of 777 water‑soluble ion measurements were collected during the sampling period. A semicontinuous organic carbon (OC) and elemental carbon (EC)) aerosol analyzer (Model 4, Sunset Laboratory, USA) was used to obtain carbonaceous component data.
OC and EC concentrations were measured in fully automated "sampling‑analysis" cycles via the thermal‑optical transmittance (TOT) method, and a total of 759 valid samples were collected during the sampling period. Heavy metal data were obtained via an ambient metal monitor (Xact625, Cooper Environmental Services, USA), which measured atmospheric particulate metal concentrations via X‑ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis technology.
The measured elements included 15 species, such as Al, Si, S, Cl, K, Ca, Ti, Mn, Fe, Cu, and Zn, and a total of 806 valid measurements were collected during the sampling period.
