A Biodiversity Action Plan is a document that the company Total Austral designs for every operational site they have operations in. The document list actions to implement on-site for biodiversity restoration, conservation, and monitoring.

The objective of the BAP is to diminish impacts on biodiversity that may come from the company activities. In this case, the survey was an herpetofauna monitoring survey conducted in both La Escalonada and Rincón La Ceniza. Although the survey was conducted for the whole ensemble in both sites, the dataset only informs key, endemic and conservation status especies.
