Maternal diet-induced excess adiposity programs multisystem vulnerability that is unmasked by postnatal infection challenge

Wildtype C57BL/6J female mice were fed either standard chow or a high-fat diet before conception and throughout pregnancy and lactation, and offspring were assessed at both neonatal and adult stages, before and after intranasal pneumococcal infection.

The dataset includes gene expression, immune cell profiling, intestinal permeability and morphology, cecal microbiome, and glucose-insulin homeostasis data, spanning multiple organ systems and developmental timepoints. This dataset consists of original experimental data generated by the authors and was not derived from or analyzed in relation to other external datasets. Raw 16S rRNA amplicon sequencing data associated with this study are deposited separately in the European Nucleotide Archive (ENA, accession number PRJEB113405) and are not included in this repository.
