Description

Federal and state governments used the information to administer agricultural program payments, estimate crop production, and to publish reports summarizing production and values for major crops. This series contains official state and U.S. totals and county level estimates of crop acreage, yield per acre, and production information for cert ain agricultural commercial products.

The records identify the commodity, state, county (in the County Level Estimates file), yield, production, number of acres planted and number of acres harvested. The products include field crops, seed crops, citrus and non-citrus fruits and nuts, and peppermint and spearmint. This data comprises government records extracted from the Archival Research Catalog (ARC).
