Description
No eartag numbers here. I considered data from the same female in different years to be independent Blank cell = no data Body mass during mating season = female body mass in Jan, Feb, or early March Most female body masses during mating season are <=15 April, with a few exceptions-- for example, when a female aroused late from hibernation and mated later than most other females Data shown here are from only those females that weaned a litter.
File for BTPDs and WTPDs also show data for females that did NOT wean a litter (Litter size = 0). For all four species, however, data in Fig 14.5 include only females that weaned a litter, UPD litter size = number of weanlings per litter that emerged from natal nursery burrow Remember: Yearling females almost always DID copulate for GPDs, UPDs, and WTPDs-- but not for BTPDs Wt = weight = body mass These data used for Figure 14.5 in Hoogland 2026.

I have created this file from SYSTAT file = UTAHWTS, which I created on 28 Oct 2008 I assume that this SYSTAT file was checked TWO TIMES when I created it Litter size = number of juveniles per litter that emerged from natal nursery-burrow Note on 07 Feb 2022: Junewt for H2 (C87) in 1997 SHOULD BE 700 (not 900). I make this change on 07 Feb 2022.
All body masses are in GRAMS. Data shown here are from only those females that weaned a litter. Similar files for BTPDs and WTPDs show data when female did NOT wean a litter (litter size = 0)--but statistical analyses for female body mass vs litter size did not include litter size = 0--i.e., litter sizes = 0 was excluded for all four species Repeat: Statistical analyses and Fig 14.5 from all four species for maternal body mass (X2) vs litter size includes only those females that weaned a litter For year, 95 - 1995, 96 - 1996, 00 = 2000, 01 = 2001, etc.
