GMM dataset used in: Bony Labyrinth Taxonomic Identification and Long-Term Evolution of Livestock in the Southwest and Central Asia

The datasets comprise 3D coordinates of anatomical landmarks and sliding semi‑landmarks collected from 3D models of the inner ear. The full acquisition protocol is described in the associated publication (and the readme file provided in this repository).

The dataset includes 3D coordinates of 312 complete bony labyrinths corresponding to 78 modern specimens belonging to 21 taxa present in the region and 234 archaeological petrous bones originating from 51 sites across the Iranian Plateau and neighbouring regions, including Upper Mesopotamia, Central Asia, the Indus Valley, the Caucasus, and Anatolia. The assemblage spans a chronological range from the Early Neolithic to the Medieval period.
