Lichen occurrences from epiphytic communities in Serra da Nogueira, northern Portugal (2005)

The study was conducted across four sites in Serra da Nogueira and aimed to investigate the composition and ecological structure of epiphytic lichen communities in these native oak forests.Epiphytic lichens were surveyed on 14 Quercus pyrenaica trees through 56 phytosociological relevés, considering variation associated with trunk level and exposure.

The resulting community data were analysed using numerical and floristic approaches and were also used to assess the ecological continuity of the studied forests through the Revised Index of Ecological Continuity.Results from the study were presented as a poster at the XV Simposio de Botánica Criptogámica: Marques J. & Burgaz A.R.
