Serving the health needs of refugees in Malawi: an integrated approach

This paper assesses the health programme developed to serve the refugees in Malawi while at the same time addressing the health needs of the local population.
Description
It gives background information on Malawi, describes the status of Mozambican refugees, discusses the government assistance programme, and then looks at key issues in the refugee health programme - including coordination and planning, primary health care, refugee participation and training, and integration with the national health system.
