Experimental data on intercropping of Cardamine hupingshanensis and wheat

The experimental design included monoculture wheat (6 plants per pot), monoculture Cardamine hupingshanensis (6 plants per pot), and intercropping (3 wheat plants + 3 C. hupingshanensis plants per pot, ~2 cm spacing), with six biological replicates per treatment.

The soil used was mixed loam, air-dried and sieved (2 mm) prior to use.Pre-germinated wheat seedlings and vegetative-stage C. hupingshanensis seedlings were transplanted and grown under controlled conditions for 30 days before sampling. Measured variables included wheat growth and physiological traits (e.g., biomass, chlorophyll content), as well as rhizosphere microbial community structure based on 16S rRNA gene sequencing.
