de novo transcriptome of the Pacific white snook Centropomus viridis

Total RNA was isolated from each sample using Zymo total RNA miniprep kit, and multiplexed libraries were constructed from oligo-dT-selected mRNA using the TruSeq Kit (Illumina). An average oif 10 million reads per library were obtained using 2x75 chemistry (Illumina NextSeq 500 platform).

Reads were processed with Trimmomatic, and assembled using Trinity ver 2.8.2. Assembled transcripts were conceptually-translated into aminoacid sequences with Transdecoder, using BlastX and HMMER hits against UniProt and pFAM databases for best ORF retention. The assembled transcripts and inferred proteins were annotated by BlastX (evalue < 1e -5 ) and pFAM (UniProt database), and the annotation report was integrated in a TSV database using the pipeline Trinnotate.
