Landcover and fire spatial data for City of Cape Town, Survey on residential decision making under risk in Imizamo Yethu and an agent based model for the understanding of residential choice under fire risk.

The research aimed to investigate the impact of wildfire management strategies on the outcome of informal settlements and wildfire at a fire-dependent wildland urban interface. Datasets were collected to firstly frame the spatial extent of landcover change and fire patterns change from 1990-2019.

Following this a survey was done to investigate the decision-making of residents under fire risk to stay in the informal settlement. This was followed up with the development of an agent based model that used the data collected to investigate the impact of varying wildfire management strategies on settlement patterns and wildland health outcomes.
