SoFIC Orchestrates Physical Barriers and Metabolic Homeostasis to Counter Phage Infection
Listed in NCBI GEO
Bacteria have developed numerous defense systems to counter persistent phage infections.
Description
In this study, we characterize the SoFIC defense system, consisting of a Fic family protein. Our results show that SoFIC is widely distributed across multiple bacterial phyla and contains a conserved Fic catalytic motif essential for anti-phage activity.
