Dataset for Indoor Air Temperature Monitoring using Ultrasonic Travel-Time Tomography

This dataset presents the indoor air temperature measurements using the novel technique of Acoustic travel time TOMography (ATOM) in the ultrasonic frequency range.
Description
The data was collected across decreasing and increasing indoor air temperature scenarios within the climate chamber laboratory of the Building Physics department at Bauhaus-University Weimar. The temperatures derived from the ATOM system were compared against those recorded by highly accurate NTC thermistors as a benchmark.
The measurements encompassed both steady-state and transient conditions. Moreover, the developed ultrasonic setup contains a preamplifier to enhance the power of the recorded signal. This preamplifier introduces a phase shift which should be measured and compensated.

Accordingly, the process of the phase shift measurements for the utilized preamplifier is provided. It covers two approaches of performing the measurements in a numeric computing platform i.e. MATLAB and validating measurements by conducting phase shift measurements using an oscilloscope. Furthermore, the data contains MATLAB codes for measuring the impulse response of the room and correspondingly detecting the travel times of the direct paths and early reflections.
