Differences emerge under high cognitive load: Differential modulation of stimulus–response and feedback processing stages in working memory tasks by monetary and social feedback

Listed in ScienceDB

Monetary and social feedback are important motivational factors in modulating working memory performance; however, their differential effects across varying levels of cognitive load have not been systematically examined.

Description

Using an N-back task paradigm combined with event-related potentials (ERPs), the present study investigated the effects of monetary versus social feedback on working memory performance and its underlying neural processes under low, medium, and high cognitive load conditions.
