The agency created and maintained STORET as a uniform data collection and reporting system for its national water quality analysis program data, used to evaluate water pollution.

Description

These records contain data relating to the environmental quality and measures of water pollution of surface and ground water in America's waterways. Water sample observational data are available for the states, the U.S. territories, and portions of Canada.

The records include information on sampling sites, dates of samples, and physical, chemical, and biological sample data.
