A Study of Voting Behavior and Political Democratization in Taiwan: the 1993 Election for County Magistrates and City Mayors (Face to Face Interview)

The primary goal of this research project was to find the least number of variables that could effectively discriminate between supporters of the KMT and supporters of the DPP while also providing insights to Taiwan\'s political democratization as revealed by the electorate\'s voting behavior.

The population of this survey was defined as all eligible voters aged twenty and over with valid residency in any of the 21 counties or cities in Taiwan Province. This survey adopted a stratified, three stage, systematic random sampling method. In the first stage, towns and districts were selected.
