PGC2018-095261-B-C22). The research project was focused on analysing the architectural and landscape dimension of the industrial infrastructure developed by the Spanish National Institute of Industry during the dictatorship, and exploring them as industrial heritage.
As part of this research, the governmental promotion of the electricity sector, and in particular, the construction of combustion power stations, was analysed. This database was elaborated in the framework of a study-case focused on the conservation of fossil fuel power stations (FFPSs). Although this study was focused mainly on Spain, it broadens a comparative analysis with neighbouring countries given that electrification is a global, technical, and historical milestone, and decarbonisation processes are common phenomena in industrialised economies of Western countries.
