Research Data Files

Some databases were created for the Committee's Research Proposal Review Project and Subject Interview Study. This series consists of databases containing information about the agency records collected by the Committee and the research conducted by the Committee.

Included in this series are the 1) Congressional Hearings Database with an index and commentary on congressional hearings and reports of research interest; 2) Document Collection Database, an index to the Research Document Collection of the Committee; 3) Experiments Index Database with information about each of the experiments of interest to the Committee; 4) News Clippings Database with abstracts of news items of research interest, retrospective and current; 5) Radiation Experiments Command Center (RECC) Library Database with catalog records for the Department of Defense RECC library collection; 6) Research Proposal Review Project (RPRP) Database with records containing data from a random sample of research proposals involving human subjects and ionizing radiation; 7) Resources and Bibliography Database with records identifying resources of potential interest to Committee research staff, including site visit reports and resource evaluation; 8) Staff Discussion Database with records documenting administrative, management, and research topics of interest to Committee staff; 9) Subject Interview Study (SIS) Database with records containing data from a descriptive study in which patients who were research subjects and patients who were not research subjects were interviewed to determine whether they believed they were participants in medical research, their general attitudes and beliefs about medical research, and if applicable why they did or did not decide to participate in the research; and 10) Timeline Database with a unified chronology for items of research interest to the Committee.
