This dataset include four knowledge clips featuring international experts on the history of Asia, slaveries, and the European impact overseas.
Description
This dataset is linked to Public Engagement Work Package 4 of the MSCA project "UNSILENCE: Trafficking of girls and Catholic missionary networks in the South China Sea (18th-19th centuries): a transnational approach". The creation of these videos serves to raise awareness about human trafficking, decolonisation in Asia and the importance of history in dealing with it.
The dataset include the following files: 1. "Slaveries and Dependencies Schottenhammer": Brief video featuring Dr. Angela Schottenhammer describing the types of dependencies and the networks of trafficking of the 18th century.; 2. "Commercial and social circulations RuizStovel": Brief video featuring Dr. Guillermo Ruiz-Stovel describing the political, economic, and social conditions in the South China Sea in the early modern period; 3. "Missionary presence Torres": Brief video featuring Dr.
