Measurements of lichen activity (chlorophyll a fluorescence) for an entire year from Botany Bay, Granite Harbour

Listed in NASA Earthdata CMR

A system was established at the back of Botany bay to monitor chlorophyll a fluorescence from a thallus of Umbilicaria aprina continuously through the winter and the next season (lichen activity through an entire year).

Description

The system was powered by gel batteries enclosed in plastic containers and a solar panel mounted on an aluminium tripod to hold it above expected snow levels. Data was recorded between February 2001 and February 2002.
