Palaeohistological and SEM-EDS elemental analysis data of crocodyliform specimen MPMA 62-0010/02

The dataset comprises photomicrographs and semi-quantitative elemental analysis data from thin sections belonging to specimen MPMA 62-0010/02 (see Table 1 for further details).
Description
Photomicrographs were captured using a ZEISS AxioCam MRc5 digital camera coupled to a ZEISS AXIO Scope A1 petrographic microscope. Image acquisition and processing were conducted via ZEN 2.5 Lite software (blue edition; Carl Zeiss Microscopy GmbH) at the Paleohydrogeology Laboratory of the Institute of Geosciences, Universidade Estadual de Campinas (UNICAMP).
The semiquantitative data include two main compilations: spot (point) chemical readings on the thin sections and elemental mapping of selected regions. Additionally, high-resolution SEM images are provided, with most of their acquisition sites pinpointed within the compilations. Analyses were performed using a JEOL JSM-IT500HR scanning electron microscope (SEM) equipped with a JEOL energy dispersive spectrometer (EDS).

The electron beam energy was maintained at 20kV, and the probe current was adjusted between STD-60 and STD-80. All procedures were conducted at the Scanning Electron Microscopy and Spectroscopy Laboratory of the Institute of Geosciences (UNICAMP).
