This study looks at one dimension of contemporary ethnic conflict: the constructive and destructive impacts of education (its two faces).
Description
It focuses on the educational structures and processes that politicize identities in ways that allow diversity and cultural differences to become the basis for violent, protracted conflict. It also examines the growing importance of 'ethnicity' in conflicts, as clearly seen in recent tragedies such as Rwanda, Kosovo and Chechnya.
