CHGIS Version 3 - Relational Database

The ZIP archive contains six SQL files: 1) alt_name3_dump.sql 2) gis_info_dump.sql 3) main3_dump.sql 4) partof_dump.sql 5) prec_by_dump.sql 6) src_notes.sql The ZIP archive also contains some explanatory files: 1) chgis_model_9oct03.jpg [data model diagram] 2) README_CHGIS_MYSQL.txt [notes on distribution and table contents] 3) v2_chgis_data_model.pdf [white paper on the rationale for dealing with change over time] The files were exported from MySQL Server (version 3.23) and contain both the CREATE table structure and the INSERT row contents.

The CHGIS Version 3 MySQL Database is the backend of the Placename Search Engine containing some 200,000 placename spellings for 154,000 places (including historical instances of places over time). This archive contains the MySQL tables only, not the PHP scripts needed to query the database. The MySQL Database does not include the Search Engine Scripts.
