Kongsfjorden Seasonal Baseline Zooplankton Dataset

The dataset includes 230 stratified plankton samples from six stations distributed along the fjord-to-shelf gradient. Each sampling record includes station, coordinates, region, year, season, Julian day, water layer, depth interval, mean depth, layer thickness, distance to glacier, bottom depth, mean temperature and mean salinity.

Abundance data are provided for 115 taxonomic, developmental-stage and size-class categories of zooplankton, including copepods, euphausiids, amphipods, molluscan larvae, gelatinous zooplankton, chaetognaths, appendicularians and meroplanktonic larvae. The dataset is suitable for analyses of seasonal succession, vertical distribution, fjord-shelf gradients, interannual variability and functional structure of Arctic zooplankton communities.
