Supplemental materials for: Functional genomic insights into feed efficiency in cattle using transcriptomics

The RNA-Sequencing data used in this research were obtained from publicly available datasets in the National Center for Biotechnology Information database. The purpose of this research was to investigate the transcriptomic mechanisms associated with variation in feed efficiency and dietary response in Holstein and Jersey cattle, with the overall aim of identifying molecular features associated with differences in residual feed intake (RFI).

The research characterized differences in mRNA isoform expression and alternative splicing, identified and characterized long non-coding RNAs, and investigated long non-coding RNA co-expression networks associated with RFI and dietary treatment using weighted gene co-expression network analysis.
