Description
This is the OBIS extraction of the Atlantic Cooperative Telemetry and Smithsonian Environmental Research Center (SERC) SERC Blue Crab Study, consisting of the release tagging metadata, i.e. the location and date when the tagged animal was released, and summarized detection events of tagged individuals. If readers are interested in the source dataset they may also inquire with the project PIs as listed here or on the OTN web site (members.oceantrack.org/project?ccode=ACT.CBBCRAB).

The Fisheries Conservation Lab at the Smithsonian Environmental Research Center is studying the migration of mature female blue crabs to learn more of their journey from the middle Chesapeake Bay to the spawning grounds in the lower Chesapeake Bay and into the Atlantic Ocean.
