Status of the adder in Scotland (2022-24): questionnaire results

The questionnaire was conducted between 2023 and 2024, and was mainly targeted at landowners and managers, including farmers and crofters, but allowed participation from anyone who knew land in Scotland well and had done so for a long period of time. Respondents were asked if adders, common lizards, slow-worms and adders had occurred on their land, and how frequently adders were observed on their land before 2013, between 2013 and 2017 and between 2018 and 2022.

This dataset contains records for the 2013-2017 and 2018 and 2022 time periods. However, the pre-2013 data and whether any of the four reptile species had occurred on the land are not included as date information was not available for these responses.
