A new conspicuously colored species of the pill millipede genus Hyleoglomeris Verhoeff, 1910 is discovered and described based on samples collected from the Kanto and Chubu regions of Japan. The new species is named Hyleoglomeris kabutus Susukida, Nguyen et Eguchi, sp. nov., and is distinguished by a deeply bifurcate syncoxital horns and subpentagon-shaped syncoxital lobe. This is supported by its conspicuous yellow colouration pattern, and cytochrome c oxidase subunit I (COI) DNA barcode sequences.
