A microbial strain for low-temperature degradation of hemicellulose

Listed in ScienceDB

The *Serratia* sp.

Description

SL-1 of the present invention can grow rapidly and efficiently produce xylanase and chitinase at lower temperatuh an optimal enzyme production temperature as low as 15°C. The enzyme activity of xylanase produced at 15°C reaches 1.4 times that of xylan produced at 37°C, with an activity of up to 46.502 IU/mL. Meanwhile, it also produces chitinase at low temperatures with anactivity of 30.427 IU/mL.

The produced xylanase and chitinase maintain high enzyme activity at lower catalytic temperatures and possess excellent pH tolerance, making tsuitable for the degradation of hemicellulose in low-temperature environments.
