Data Analysis Plan for Event (Heatwave and High Air Pollution) and Non-Event (Average Temperature and Moderate/Good Air Quality) Survey

Quantitative data from online surveys were analyzed using IBM SPSS Statistics Version 30. Descriptive statistics were used to summarize participant characteristics, reported symptoms, well-being, and disruptions to daily activities.

To compare differences between heatwave and non-heatwave periods, t-tests were used for continuous variables and chi-square tests for categorical variables. Logistic regression models (binary and ordinal) were used to assess associations between heatwave exposure and health or activity-related outcomes, adjusting for demographics and air quality. Survey responses from ineligible participants (e.g., those who did not meet age requirements) were reviewed for exclusion reasons but were not included in the final analysis.
